Merlin was a big black wolf.  I was always blessed when Merlin came to visit.  Merlin would speak to you right away after greeting Loki with the greatest expressions of love and joy.   You could carry on an entire conversation in your head with Merlin and no one else in the room would know it except for his human.

He was wary of most two leg-geds.  His favorite spot was behind my husband's chair next to the fire... away from everyone.  Usually Loki was close by.  Sometimes after a ceremony when everyone was fat and full after the feast, including Merlin, he would sing with us.  Merlin would just raise up his head and belt it out with the best of us.  He would greet me with his clan song and just melt my heart.

He came in spirit to say good-bye to me the night he left Mother Earth.  Loki and I miss him.  He was our good and great friend.
