THE BIRTH of: AS THE TEEPEE TURNS

Mental Note: God must be a Heyoka.  There are plenty of times I have this thought and laugh, just laugh.  Beats crying.  Only a contrary could come up with situations in our lives that get you laughing or shaking your head.  I do a lot of both. For example, this idea for a SOAP came about as a result of a soap product I truly believe everyone could benefit by.  My challenge was how to get it out to all the people I haven't met yet.  In these days of the information age there are people who are not connected.  Our family was one of those.   The last time I had touched a keyboard connected to a computer was many moons ago.   Much has changed.

As the Teepee turns animation Those of you who know of our daily lives and how it goes around here really get how this works.  We have always called our collective journey "As the Teepee Turns".  For those who visit only once a year we catch up on the news and the evolving stories encapsulated in our collective yet individual lives.  For those of you who have come late into the series, don't fret, it is a continuing saga.  Maybe, you too, will have a role in this story for you are sacred.  You are a miracle.  You are a gift.  I'm just here to remind you of that so I don't forget it myself.  Know that the opinions depicted in the stories are mine and I am entitled to them.  Know that I prefer laughter to tears.  I've discovered it is difficult for people to fight when they are laughing.

There are those of you out there who have asked why my focus is on the Chiricahuas not the Dakota and my response is 1973.  Not a good time for an 18 year old, fresh off the boat to go hunting for familial ties.  They call me a sensitive.  What do you expect from a Pisces.  As one fish was sufficiently prepared in the druidic background of my mother's people, I thought it would be time for the other fish to swim along the stream to my father's folks.  Good idea, bad timing. Creator had other plans for me.  So here we are.

Remember my husband Hawk, the one with fond nicknames for everyone who sticks around long enough for the next sunrise?  Well, he's Chiricahua Apache andHawk at Chriachua Azorean.  His particular genetic coding doesn't much like fish, it loves elk.  At present the Chiricahuas must now leave Oklahoma and as they do not own any land, the Chiricachuas will soon, collectively, be homeless.  Native American Indians have a different life than most. (In and off the reservations if they had one.)  The attempt at acculturation of many has resulted in a loss of so much.  There are numerous books and eloquent speakers of these matters, and there are many links out here on the net that you can glean knowledge from.

My purpose here is to lighten the generational sorrows with a small bit of humor.  The joke is on me.  The punch lines are on you.  However, it is always at the forefront of my consciousness as we live out here with all of you and are one with all things. May you enjoy the following vignettes of my life.
